No doubt Bravo execs have been hard at work figuring out how to proceed with season 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Mondays, 9 p.m. ET) in the wake of Russell Armstrong‘s suicide. Now it seems they may be confronting the issue head-on.

Sources close to the show tell the Los Angeles Times that the network is planning a special episode that captures the Housewives’ various responses to Russell’s untimely death. Apparently, Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards, and Adrienne Maloof had sit-downs which were filmed on Monday, — though Russell’s estranged wife Taylor Armstrong reportedly didn’t participate.

Bravo hasn’t confirmed this plan, but it may be the best way to move forward in an extremely delicate situation. One of the prominent story lines of season 2, which is still set to premiere on Sept. 5, revolved around the breakup of Russell and Taylor Armstrong’s marriage.

Gearing up to promote the new season, the network sent out promo videos to the press that included Taylor crying about her marriage and shopping for lingerie to try to spice it up. Then Russell’s body was found in his home on Aug. 15, with the death was ruled a suicide.

Through Russell’s lawyer, the family requested that any footage of Russell or those associated with him be edited out of the show, with his mother even threatening a lawsuit.

While a source at Bravo has acknowledged that the show is being re-edited in light of recent events, edit Russell out altogether is a tricky proposition; Taylor’s whole story line appears to hinge on disintegration of her relationship with her ex. To edit Taylor out of the show might be next to impossible, since she’s an integral part of the group and often in scenes with the other women.

There’s no word yet on whether the special episode about Armstrong’s death will air before or after the premiere episode. But however the special episode unfolds, there’s no doubt that the season will be a painful one for the Armstrong family.

Rousimar Palhares is a tremendous fighter, but there always seems to be something goofy that arises during his fights.

Palhares dominated Dan Miller for 15 minutes, but nearly blew the match when he stopped fighting in the first round to prematurely celebrate what he thought was a victory via stoppage. Referee Herb Dean simply restarted the bout without docking Palhares any points and the Brazilian went on to post a unanimous decision victory, 30-25, 30-27, 29-27, at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro.

Palhares is now 5-2 in the UFC, but his fights have often been highlighted by an odd moment. One of the losses came against Nate Marquardt. Back at Ultimate Fight Night 22, Palhares was on the ground, stopped defending himself to tell the referee that Marquardt felt greasy and was the recipient of several finishing shots.

After UFC 111, he was suspended by the N.J. Athletic Control Board after he refused to acknowledge the referee during a submission stoppage against Tomasz Drwal. Before he entered the UFC, Palhares had several similar cases in Brazil where he held onto submissions for too long.

Tonight produced another interesting note on the Palhares’ resume. With 44 seconds left in the first round, he crushed Miller with a head kick. The American fell to his back and covered up. Palhares pounded away with nine shots while Dean watched closely to see if Miller was finished. The ref never stopped the fight, but Palhares suddenly turned away, put his hands in the air and jumped on top of the cage to celebrate what he thought was a win. It confused Miller, who also thought the fight had been stopped and screamed out an expletive.

Dean grabbed Palhares off the cage and told him the fight was never stopped. Miller (13-6, 5-5 UFC) was fine. So much so that he quickly landed a left that locked up Palhares’ body and the Brazilian fell to his back. Then Palhares recovered and eventually scored a big takedown with less than 10 seconds left in the round. As the horn sounded, Palhares landed a big right elbow and a left that appeared to come a little late.

Palhares sealed the victory in the second by gaining top control with 4:30 minutes left in the round. Miller never got back to his feet. Palhares stood over him and pounded away. On several occasions, Dean had to tell Miller that he would stop the fight if he didn’t defend himself. Miller made it through, but the judges rewarded Palhares for the extremely dominant round.

In the third round, Palhares tired badly, but Miller was so beat up he couldn’t take advantage of it.

The striking numbers told the story as Palhares outlanded Miller 104-56. According to Compustrike, 84 of the Palhares’ shots were power strikes.

The rumblings are true — Mariah Carey will join Simon Cowell on The X Factor! 

Cowell alluded to the fact that the new mom would be part of his much-anticipated show, but now a source close to the show has confirmed that Mariah will, in fact, get her moment. Though she won’t be a regular judge — like Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger — Carey will appear as a special guest judge.

"Mariah is definitely confirmed to be a part of X Factor," the insider told People.com. "She is confirmed to tape something with Simon Cowell at the judge’s homes."

Back in April, before Mariah gave birth to her twins, Cowell said that he had his eye on getting the singer to be part of his American version of the wildly popular talent competition.

"I think Mariah will have a role in the live shows," Cowell said. "I met her recently and she was on great form." 

He also said that when he and the songstress met, Carey was already thinking about what her role on the show could be.

"Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with," Cowell said. "She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira pulled a big upset on Saturday night, knocking out Brendan Schaub in Rio de Janeiro, just miles from his home and gym. Understandably, he was elated after the fight.

That $100,000 that he’s asking for is the super-sized knockout of the night bonus. Good news for Nogueira is that UFC president Dana White agreed and awarded the bonus to Nog. Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson’s bout won Fight of the Night. Even though the fights were in Brazil and chock-full of Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioners, there were no submissions, so a submission of the night was not awarded.
