Prince William and his wife, Catherine, went for a hand-in-hand walk around Holyrood Park yesterday morning in Edinburgh. They stuck around the queen’s official Scottish residence for a few days after attending Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall’s wedding reception there on Saturday night. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were decked out in similar outfits for the stroll, both in purple cable-knit sweaters with their collars peeking out. We even had a rare glimpse at the prince in his glasses! Kate and William were soon headed back to their home in Wales. Kate was seen later in the afternoon out at her local Tesco, taking care of the grocery run while Prince William prepped for a return to work with the Royal Air Force.

Beginning last season, MX Sports Pro Racing implemented a new numbering system for the Women’s AMA National Motocross championship. In years past, riders selected their numbers based on availability and order of selection was determined by where a rider finished in the standings the previous season. While the champion was designated to wear the number one plate, all other competitors were permitted to select any number that was available.

The 2010 campaign marked the debut of a new numbering system that determines a rider’s number by where she finished the previous season. As a result, one’s finishing position in the championship would serve as her number for the following season.

While Women’s MX Champion Jessica Patterson will enter 2011 with the #1 plate on her bike, jersey and helmet, below is a list of the remaining numbers for next season’s MotorcycleUSA Women’s Motocross Championship in accordance to each woman’s position in the final standings for 2010:

Daniel Cormer was helping teammates Mo Lawal and Luke Rockhold prepare for their Sept. 10 bouts when he was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Alistair Overeem had dropped out of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, and Cormier was being asked to step in and fight Antonio Silva. For Cormier, taking the fight with Silva was a no-brainer.

“Obviously, I had no reservations. I’m a person who thinks things through, and when I weighed out the positives and negatives, there was no reason for me to not take the fight,” Cormier told Cagewriter.

It’s a leap up in competition for the undefeated Cormier. His last bout was a unanimous decision over journeyman heavyweight Jeff Monson. With Overeem’s withdrawal, the tournament has lost one of its biggest names, but that doesn’t bother Cormier.

No. 1 star — Jake Ellenberger: When Ellenberger first was matched up with Jake Shields, trash talk from Ellenberger made Shields ask, “Who is this guy?” He found out, as Ellenberger knocked out Shields in less than a minute in the main event. Shields disputed the knockout, but considering that he tried to wrestle the referee, it’s safe to say it was a reasonable stoppage. With his fifth win, he is looking for a welterweight title shot.

No. 2 star — Alan Belcher: The Louisiana-born fighter went through dangerous procedures on his eye last year that put his fighting career in doubt. Belcher didn’t accept his dire prognosis from doctors. Instead, he worked hard so that he could fight again, and returned to the Octagon with a bang on Saturday night. His unrelenting strikes caused Jason MacDonald to submit in the first round.

No. 3 star — T.J. Waldburger: If you didn’t tune into the preliminary fights on Facebook, you missed out on the jiu-jitsu clinic that Waldburger put on Mike Stumpf. He submitted Stumpf in the first round with a slick transition from an armbar to a triangle choke.
