They stuck around the queen’s official Scottish residence for a few days after attending Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall’s wedding reception there on Saturday night. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were decked out in similar outfits for the stroll, both in purple cable-knit sweaters with their collars peeking out. We even had a rare glimpse at the prince in his glasses! Kate and William were soon headed back to their home in Wales. Kate was seen later in the afternoon out at her local Tesco, taking care of the grocery run while Prince William prepped for a return to work with the Royal Air Force.

Beginning last season, MX Sports Pro Racing implemented a new numbering system for the Women’s AMA National Motocross championship. In years past, riders selected their numbers based on availability and order of selection was determined by where a rider finished in the standings the previous season. While the champion was designated to wear the number one plate, all other competitors were permitted to select any number that was available.

The 2010 campaign marked the debut of a new numbering system that determines a rider’s number by where she finished the previous season. As a result, one’s finishing position in the championship would serve as her number for the following season.

While Women’s MX Champion Jessica Patterson will enter 2011 with the #1 plate on her bike, jersey and helmet, below is a list of the remaining numbers for next season’s MotorcycleUSA Women’s Motocross Championship in accordance to each woman’s position in the final standings for 2010:

Daniel Cormer was helping teammates Mo Lawal and Luke Rockhold prepare for their Sept. 10 bouts when he was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Alistair Overeem had dropped out of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, and Cormier was being asked to step in and fight Antonio Silva. For Cormier, taking the fight with Silva was a no-brainer.

“Obviously, I had no reservations. I’m a person who thinks things through, and when I weighed out the positives and negatives, there was no reason for me to not take the fight,” Cormier told Cagewriter.

It’s a leap up in competition for the undefeated Cormier. His last bout was a unanimous decision over journeyman heavyweight Jeff Monson. With Overeem’s withdrawal, the tournament has lost one of its biggest names, but that doesn’t bother Cormier.

Late Sunday night Strikeforce announced their upcoming card this weekend had been cancelled after lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez suffered an undisclosed injury in training. As a result of the short turnaround time to find a replacement, Showtime has elected not to air the card and forced Strikeforce’s hand in the matter.

“When Showtime  informed us that it would not be airing the event, we made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday?s card in Sacramento,? Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker explained in a press release. “Without a television partner, we simply could not move forward with this event. We wish Gilbert a speedy recovery and will work diligently and quickly to reschedule the fighters affected by this news on upcoming cards.?

Melendez took to Twitter to apologize to his fans, but gave no indication of what the injury related to or how long he expected to be out, writing, ?Want to say sorry to all my fans and supporters of Strikeforce for not being able to compete. Injured myself early last week. Bummer…?

Strikeforce officials have said ticket holders for the card can get refunds for their tickets.

Zuffa, the parent company of both the UFC and Strikeforce, had never cancelled an event before September of 2012. The recent development now marks the second show they’ve scrapped with the other involving UFC 151.
